The Community Foundation of South Georgia has awarded its annual round of teacher mini-grants through the Community Public Education Fund for Thomasville City and Thomas County School Systems and the Robert Warde Chambers Public Education Fund for Brooks County School System. The Public Education Funds for Thomasville City, Thomas County and Brooks County School systems will be awarding mini-grants to teachers this winter! Monies awarded will go to support 2021 Spring Semester projects not funded through school budgets.

This fall, the Community Foundation will be administering the 3rd Annual grant cycle for the South Georgia Legacy Fund. The South Georgia Legacy Fund is the Community Foundation of South Georgia’s unrestricted fund created to support the ever-changing needs of the communities of South Georgia.

In response to the global pandemic now affecting South Georgians, the Community Foundation awarded grants to 67 organizations across South Georgia from the COVID-19 Relief Fund totaling $614,900. Grants were directed to organizations working on the frontlines of the relief effort in our communities who are serving those most at-risk including seniors, children, and low-income or food-insecure individuals with access to basic needs.
