Who We Are
Founded in 1996, the Community Foundation of South Georgia is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to making South Georgia a better place to live through effective philanthropy. We help individuals, families, nonprofit organizations and businesses establish and manage charitable funds that carry out their philanthropic interests. Serving a geographic area of 35 counties in South Georgia, we facilitate our donors’ charitable plans and goals by creating custom designed funds that meet their specific interests and ensure solid financial management and administration for each fund.
Our mission is to encourage giving, inspire action and improve lives in South Georgia. Our vision is to be a catalyst for leadership and collaboration in identifying and meeting local needs and to promote the establishment of charitable funds which benefit South Georgia for generations. We strive to be the recognized resource for helping donors and nonprofit organizations meet community needs Forever.

David oversees and manages all aspects of the Foundation and its relationships with donors, nonprofit organizations, professional advisors and board members.

2019-2022
In 2019, our Board of Directors worked diligently to develop the following three year Strategic Plan that will further perpetuate the impact the Community Foundation will have on philanthropy in our South Georgia community for generations to come.
GOAL 1:
Strengthen the relevance and role of the Community Foundation’s work in our communities through prominent public engagement, leadership development and community involvement which results in the identification and support of local needs.
GOAL 2:
Improve the accessibility and efficiency of the Foundation for its donors, nonprofit organizations and board members through technology upgrades and enhancements.
GOAL 3:
Inspire philanthropy and increase awareness of the Community Foundation’s role in philanthropy with philanthropists, nonprofit organizations and professional advisors through effective marketing and communications.
