Financial Management
When you place your gifts in our care, you can count on us to operate efficiently and invest wisely.
Financials & Investments
An active Board of Trustees and Investment Committee oversee the financial assets of The Community Foundation and works with our professional staff to exercise high standards of management and fiscal stewardship. The Foundation operates efficiently and effectively, minimizing expenditures.
While each fund is accounted for separately, the Foundation’s assets are pooled for investment purposes, yielding significant economies of scale. Investment managers are charged with maintaining and increasing the inflation-adjusted value of the Foundation’s permanent funds with the goal of meeting charitable distribution and grant-making needs in South Georgia.
The Community Foundation also uses an independent investment consultant to provide quarterly investment reports to the Investment Committee and Board. The Investment Committee meets on a quarterly basis with the investment consultant to evaluate the relative performance of all investment advisors to the investment benchmarks of the Foundation and to insure adherence to the Foundation’s investment policy statement.
