WHERE SMALL CHANGE CAN CHANGE LIVES
Mitchell EMC Charitable Fund
Through their Operation Round-Up Program, Mitchell Electric Corporation, a nonprofit, member owned electric cooperative, allows members who wish to participate in this program to round their electric bill up to the next highest dollar. By establishing a fund with the Community Foundation, they are able to use small amounts of change to make an incredible difference in the rural communities they serve.
Transforming a community through education
The Robert Warde Chambers Scholarship and Public Education Fund
With a desire to support educational initiatives in Brooks County, Georgia, the estate of Robert Warde Chambers established a fund with the Community Foundation that supports both students and educators in their community. This fund provides scholarships to graduating seniors, continuing education support for teachers and mini-grants for educators’ classroom projects in Brooks County.
A LEGACY OF SELFLESSNESS
Anonymous Giving
True generosity is giving without the need for recognition. By establishing several different types of funds with the Community Foundation, one South Georgia family was able to create a giving plan that fit their own unique desires, oftentimes through anonymous grants.
