About the COVID-19 Relief Fund
In response to the unprecedented Coronavirus pandemic, the Community Foundation of South Georgia established the COVID-19 Relief Fund in March of 2020. This fund was established to accept and strategically disburse funds to nonprofit organizations on the frontlines of the COVID-19 response effort in South Georgia. Funds to support this effort were raised from CFSGA’s donor advised funds, local private foundations and private foundations and corporations outside of South Georgia and the state.
Since April 2020, seven rounds of grants have been made to organizations across our 35-county service area. A total of $689,900 has been distributed in 195 grants to 68 local nonprofits. Grants were directed to organizations working on the frontlines of the relief effort in our communities who are serving those most at-risk including seniors, children, and low-income or food-insecure individuals with access to basic needs. A full listing of grants made from the COVID-19 Relief Fund can be found by clicking below.
Donating to the COVID-19 Relief Fund
All funds will be distributed through timely grants to charitable organizations working to respond to the COVID-19 crisis in our area. No grants will be made directly to individuals. We encourage everyone to join us in supporting the nonprofit organizations that are so vital to our South Georgia community by giving to this fund.
